As we look toward the Advent season, Pastor Chris Seay shares the stories of obedience lived by Mary, Joseph, and the Magi; risking greatly as they embraced God's calling upon their lives. In this "new year", in the season that lies ahead, we must ask ourselves if we are willing to meet Jesus anew and obediently proclaim as Mary did, "Here I am, God's humble servant." 

Pastor Chris Seay continues our series drawing from scripture and the unique insight of theologian C.S. Lewis to discuss temporary happiness versus true Christian joy. We discover that true joy is not found in our current circumstances or what we do, but rather based on who we are.

On Ash Wednesday, we gathered for a time of contemplation; preparing our hearts for the Lenten journey that awaits. We prayed in repentance, lifted voices in worship, and received ashes as a reminder not only of our mortality and brokenness, but also as a reminder of our identity as God's beloved children. Our hope is that each of us would be changed in these coming weeks; that in setting certain distractions, vices, and comforts aside, we might create space for God to transform us in ways that would continue far beyond our Resurrection celebration.
